IBM Computer Tape Reels For Sale

Legler Systems Company has the following vintage 1/2" 9-Track Magnetic Tapes for sale. These magnetic tapes were originally purchased by Legler Systems for the Series/1 computer, though they can be used with any computer or server.

Legler Systems is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, California 94563.

Vintage 9-Track Magnetic Tape Reels For Sale:

These vintage 9-track magnetic tape reels store computer data in densities from 800 bpi to 6250 bpi. Each old magnetic tape reel (10.5 inches in diameter) contains 1/2 inch magnetic tape that is 2400 feet in length. The amount of EBCDIC/ASCII data stored on a single 2400-foot tape reel depends on the data block size and the recording density. There is a fixed gap of about 1/2 inch between each data block. As a general rule, the maximum amount of data stored on a single magnetic tape reel at 6250 bpi is 50 megabytes to 64 megabytes. Even though these vintage 9-track magnetic tape reels with straps (some in canisters) were previously used on an IBM 4969 Tape Unit attached to the IBM Series/1 computer and an HP-3000 computer, they can be used on any computer with a reel-to-reel 9-track tape drive.

Buy two old 9-Track Magnetic Tape Reels and get one of equal value FREE. The following vintage 9-track tape reels are available:

a. IBM "Multi-System Tape" 9-track tape reels (6250 bpi) with straps. (14 IBM tape reels are available at $8.00 each.)

b. Certified 6250 bpi tape reels (Decade 9-track magnetic tapes) with straps. (17 Decade tape reels are available at $3.00 each.)

c. Misc. 9-track tape reels at 3200 bpi. (26 Misc. tape reels are available at $1.00 each.)

Note: The prices above do not include a handling fee and actual shipping charge.
