IBM Series/1 Computer Parts For Sale

Legler Systems Company has the following used IBM Series/1 computer parts and other computer equipment for sale. All computer equipment was originally purchased by Legler Systems for the IBM Series/1 computer.

Legler Systems is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.


1. IBM Series/1 Storage Addition Memory Part (feature 6328) - $10:

This vintage attachment card provides an additional 128K bytes of processor memory for the IBM Series/1 4955 processor and measures 5" by 8" with four 24-pin connectors alone the edge opposite the handle. (2 cards are available).

2. Racal-Vadic VA1616A Chassis with 7 modems - $19:

The vintage Racal-Vadic rack-mountable VA1616A Multiple Data Set Chassis measures 7"H x 19"W x 13"D and mounts in any standard 19-inch rack, such as the IBM 4997 rack enclosure. The VA1616A chassis front panel contains an array of 16 LED channel status indicators, a LED power alarm indicator, 8 LED diagnostic indicators, a row of 19 test switches and a channel select switch. The Racal-Vadic VA1616A communication chassis has two VA2010 Power Supplies (115 volts) for redundancy and supports 16 single-board modems or 8 double-board modems. Weight is 30 lbs. The following vintage Racal-Vadic modems are included and can be removed from the VA1616A chassis:

a. Five VA3467 Triple Modems (1200 bps asynchronous). The Racal-Vadic VA3467 is compatible with the Bell 212A modem.

b. Two VA4840 modems (4800 bps synchronous).

Documentation includes VA1616A/B/M Chassis Configuration Guide, installation and operation manuals for the VA34X7 Triple Modem and VA4840 Modem.

3. IBM Shielded Data Cables For Sale - $2 (each):

a. EIA shielded data cables are 20 foot in length with a RS232 connector (male) on one end and a Berg (2x8) connector on the other end. IBM cable (feature 2057) contains 12 wires (#22 AWG). (2 shielded data cables are available).

b. EIA data-set cables are 4 foot in length with RS232 (male) and Berg connections. Each data-set cable contains 12 wires. (3 data-set cables are available).

c. Telephone cables are 20 feet long with 9-pin connector to RJ-45 jack. Each telephone cable contains 5 wires. (5 telephone cables are available).

d. Telephone cables are 20 feet long with 9-pin connector to standard telephone jack. Each telephone cable contains 4 wires. (4 telephone cables are available).

e. Data-set cable (10 feet long) with RS232 connectors (male) at both ends. Each data-set cable contains 9 wires. (3 data-set cables are available).

f. Data-set cable (20 feet long) with RS232 connectors (male) at both ends. Each data-set cable contains 9 wires. (2 data-set cables are available).

4. Standard 19-inch metal rack filler panels For Sale - $5 (each):

These filler panel parts were on an IBM Series/1 rank model 4997, though they can be used with any standard 19 inch metal server rack.

a. Large panel 14 inches high by 19 inches wide by 1/16 inches thick.

b. Small panel 5 1/2 inches high by 19 inches wide by 1/26 inches thick.

5. IBM Event Driven Software:

The vintage EDX software runs on any model of the IBM Series/1 computer and requires an IBM 4964 Diskette Unit to read the following IBM 8-inch floppy diskettes:

a. The EDX software (Version 3 of the operating system) on IBM 8" floppy disks includes the basic EDX supervisor and emulator (XS3), program preparation facility (XX4) and EDX Utilities (UT5) and costs $15.

b. The EDX software (COBOL Version 2) on IBM 8" floppy disks includes the COBOL compiler and resident library (CB5) and the COBOL Transient library (CB6) and costs $15.

c. The EDX Sort/Merge Software (SM2) on IBM 8" floppy disks performs file sorting and merging of electronic data records and costs $9.
